Jovanna Saily Reyes, a 24-year-old resident of Bowling Green, lost life in a tragic crash early Friday morning, April 17, 2026, in Haines City, Florida.

Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 12:29 a.m. along U.S. Highway 27 near B. Moore Road.

Investigators stated that the vehicle driven by Reyes collided with a semi-truck before leaving the roadway, crossing the median, and striking the exterior wall of the First Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed Reyes had passed away.

Officials noted that the semi-truck driver remained unharmed and cooperated fully with investigators.

Preliminary findings suggest that speed may have played a role in the crash, though the investigation continues.

The roadway remained closed for several hours as authorities examined the scene before reopening later that morning.
